Ohio Attorney General

The state of Ohio has implemented an innovative program to help victims of identify theft – the Identity Theft Verification Passport. When a victim of identity theft completes a police report he/she can also apply for an Ohio Passport card. The police officer completes an online form that electronically captures a victim’s thumbprint, esignature and photograph, along with other general information. Victims can show the card to creditors and law enforcement personnel, establishing conclusively that they have been the victim of a crime.
